Open Training Course – Automated Design of Photonic Integrated Circuits

From the comfort of your own home, attend a 4-day, intensive online training on photonic integrated circuits (PICs) design and simulations. Each session will be 4 hours long to allow you to keep your work projects going. Small class sizes enable direct access to our experts.

Learn by means of demonstrations and hands-on sessions how to build the simulation setup for your design, set it up and evaluate the performance of your circuit starting from basic components and going up to complex active and passive PICs.

Get acquainted with efficient simulation techniques for circuit-level simulations by working with VPIcomponentMaker Photonic Circuits and its VPItoolkits PDK on various application cases, different technology platforms, and layout-ready process design kits.

The workshop is intended for up to 15 attendees. Course material, and software licenses for the duration of the training will be provided.

During the training you will learn how to integrate and automate modeling, optimization and layout extraction of single building blocks and complex hierarchical circuits. Live demonstrations of the recently released Infinera, SMART Photonics, Fraunhofer-HHI, LioniX and Ligentec process design kits (PDKs) supporting PhoeniX OptoDesigner, Luceda IPKISS, Nazca Design, and Siemens EDA tools will be held by our team of simulation experts
