VPIphotonics at Workshops on Photonic Integrated Circuit Design

Come and visit our modeling experts at technical workshops!

6th European Photonic Integration Forum (EPIF)

September 28, 2015 in Valencia (Spain) – organized in conjunction with ECOC 2015

The EPIF is an event that gathers all relevant players and people interested in photonic integrated technologies in Europe. It is the place to get updated on the latest developments, get acquired with the moving trends and network with most of the ecosystem. Since the 5th EPIF, which was organized at ECOC 2013 in London, rapid progress has been made in the capabilities of generic and open access photonic platforms, including software, design, fabrication and packaging.

In this new 6th edition, a quick overview will be given of the present capabilities of both InP, silicon and dielectric waveguide platforms, followed by a lively debate on the most hot topics in the field now. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with all involved companies and also enjoy a lunch at the event.

VPIphotonics team will be available to demonstrate VPIcomponentMaker Photonic Circuits and a new toolkit supporting the InP photonics Process Design Kit for Multi-Project Wafer runs offered by the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute. We will show seamless integration with OptoDesigner, a mask layout software by Phoenix Software, to ensure fabricable designs. Set up an appointment!

JePPIX Training course on Photonic Integration Technology

June 8-12, 2015 in Berlin (Germany)

This 5-days intensive JePPIX training course focuses on supporting the creation of designs to be fabricated in Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) runs at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI), SMART Photonics, Oclaro, and LioniX.
Attendees will learn about photonic integration in general and how to participate in a MPW run. The course provides extensive hands-on sessions on using foundry's mature building blocks to simulate your circuit with photonic circuit simulators from VPIphotonics, PhotonDesign and Filarete. You will learn how to automatically translate your circuit to foundry's mask (GDSII) file and implement packaging designs by using templates from Linkra, Technobis and Xio Photonics.

VPIphotonics team will demonstrate VPIcomponentMaker Photonic Circuits and a new toolkit supporting the InP photonics Process Design Kit for MPW runs offered by the HHI. We will show seamless integration with OptoDesigner, a mask layout software by Phoenix Software, to ensure fabricable designs.

PARADIGM: Generic Integration Technologies for Photonics (2nd Eastern European Workshop)

May 21-22, 2015 in Warsaw (Poland)

This workshop is organized by Warsaw University of Technology at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technologies. At the workshop partners in the PARADIGM project will present a broad view of the generic integration technology on offer. You will have an opportunity to meet the key players in the photonic integration field and discuss the application of ASPICs in your own commercial products.
